Glenn Gault Jr and #32 Late Model Racing team did another spectacular job at Lake Erie on Saturday July 26th leading all but 6 laps of the main Feature.
Glenn Jr. started out in the first heat race from the 6th position and in the first lap had already taken third. He maintained third through lap 5 when he took over the 2nd position and maintained it through the checkered.
In the feature Glenn also started from the 6th position. He had moved into third by lap 3 and 2nd on lap 4. Caution was out on lap five for the leader who had trouble and spun out on his own putting Glenn into the lead. Glenn lead the race through the only other caution on lap 24. However in the closing laps the second and third place cars closed the gap, with the second place car passing Glenn on lap 39 . Glenn Jr. made sure that the driver worked very hard to take the position. Glenn raced hard and held on to second place at the checkered flag.
Even though it wasn’t a win, Glenn Jr. and the team were very excited with the strong run and how well the night went. So they move on and look forward to the next race. Check back for updates about the team as they race hard for the win “At The Track”.

Glenn Jr. and the #32 Late Model racing team spent the day on Saturday July 19th at Lake Erie Speedway for the Lake Erie 150. The day was ultimately a long one but a good one when in the early hours of now Sunday AM Glenn Jr was climbing out of the car with 4th place finish after 150 laps on the short track. With a field of 26 cars thats no small feat.
Practice took place early in the day, between noon and three in some pretty intense July heat. As the afternoon wore on the clouds rolled in and the wind picked up to bring a little relief. So about the time Glenn lined up in the pits for the first Heat race around 6 PM it was all cloud cover. Glenn started the race from the fourth position, with six cars in the Heat and 15 laps as the set distance to the checkered flag. At the green flag before one lap was on the board caution was out and so the field reset, doubled up and took the green a second time. This was a clean start and Glenn went to work cautiously. He maintained 4th through most of the race and in the closing laps moved into 3rd and was working on 2nd at the checkered. Glenn pulled into the pit area with alot of track debris on his tires but other than that the car felt good.
For this event the top three finishers from each heat were set by drawing positions on the front stretch prior to the start of the race. Glenn stood with the other 11 drivers on the front stretch and chose fairly early in the drawing order. He chose the #10 T-shirt, signed it, and then it was launched into the stands for the fans as returned to his car to get set for the race. Glenn Jr. started from the 10th position but as the race got under way Glenn had his hands full. The first caution was on lap 30 and Glenn was hanging between 11th and 15th and reporting that the car was loose everywhere. At this point the decision was made to give up track position and fix what was wrong with the car. Glenn came in to pit and came back out in 25th on lap 29. Glenn went back to racing and reported the car was now pretty decent. Next caution was on lap 42 and Glenn was up to 19th. He worked hard racing for positions and carefully moved up to 12th by the competition caution on lap 75. At this time everyone came in for 5 minutes for any required fuel, tires, or adjustments. Glenn said the car was pretty nuetral so not much was needed. Glenn restarted 11th on the inside row after the competition yellow and through several caution flags and restarts worked his way up to 10th by lap 110. Glenn was giving the crowd a reason to stay late into the night in the stands racing side by side from lap 113 to lap 120 with the #99 to take the 8th spot. He was door to door clean and smooth from corner to corner until finally the clear all clear from Glenn Sr and on he went to take the 7th position. He had that by the time the caution was out on lap 128. Last caution was on lap 131 and Glenn had 6th. Glenn continued that charge to the front taking spots one by one with 5th on lap 139 and 4th on lap 144, taking the checkered flag in 4th spot.
Its not always possible to be the best but is always possible to improve on your own performance. I think thats exactly how Glenn Jr and the team felt leaving the track Saturday night. This time 4th place and a great race were almost as good as a win.
Glenn Jr was also glad to see all his fans on Saturday at Lake Erie during the autograph session. Thanks to everyone who stopped by. He looks forward to racing again soon for everyone and you can check back here for the updates for the action “At the Track”.

Glenn and the team took part in the Kayak Pools 100 at Holland Speedway on Saturday July 12th. Glenn gave the crowd their money’s worth right off the bat in the heat race with a down to wire finish to the checkered flag, unfortuately coming up second.
Glenn started the Feature set for 100 laps in 5th spot. He had moved up to 2nd when the race got cut short by rain on lap 25. It will be continued on August 30th. Thanks to Jessica for all the updates from the track this weekend.
Check back for news on where Glenn and the team will be racing next.

Anyone can drive a fast car, few can drive a car fast…especially at a short track. I think the fans of the #32 Snow King/Gault Heating Inc Chevy Impala are fairly familiar with seeing their driver cut through traffic clean and smooth on his way towards the front. Well the fans got to see some of that on Saturday at Lake Erie Speedway.
Glenn had hoped to race at both Motordrome and Lake Erie this weekend but after having Mother Nature take away Friday night’s racing at Motordrome, Glenn was ready to go. That he did finishing first in his Heat race after starting 4th and it was not easy to get. He really had to work to take the first position and got it on lap nine of ten.
The feature race had Glenn starting from the ninth spot of 23 cars. It took 2 yellow flags to make it to lap one. The action slowed again on lap 4 when the current points leader got together with the #3 in turn 3. Glenn had moved up two spots and took the green flag restart in 7th. At the next wave of the yellow Glenn was sitting in 5th on lap 14. At the wave of the green Glenn Jr was setting his sights on the leader. Lap 16 Glenn was in 3rd. On lap 29 some contact was made with the #91 in turn 4 resulting in a caution and a penalty for both Glenn and the #91 sending them both tail end of the line from 2nd and 3rd positions in the running. Glenn mounted his charge towards the front and was up to 16th from the 23rd spot by lap 33 and up to 11th by lap 38 when the caution came out and Glenn was issued a Black Flag and asked to leave the track. Fans I wish that I could give a better explanation as to why as none was given when Glenn Gault Sr asked for one from the official in the pit area. The only statement given to him was the ruling came from the tower and they would have to take it up with the tower. Unfortunately the rule book also states that no crew members are allowed in the tower while the race is in progress so Glenn Jr’s fate was sealed without anyway to appeal. No contact with any car was made prior to the caution and Glenn Jr. did not cause the caution prior to his black flag to the knowledge of the author.
They say that ability gets you to the top and character keeps you there. That being said we all know that Glenn Jr. has the ability so I guess this is our test of character. I have a feeling Glenn Jr. and the team can pass the test with flying colors. Next race is next Saturday at Holland Speedway when Glenn Jr. will be back on track racing for the win.
